MI - Pimpinan Bank Indonesia (BI) Solo Doni P. Joewono menegaskan kebijakan perbankan memang tidak akan memutihkan atau menghapus utang para debitur korban Merapi di empat kabupaten Jateng dan DI Yogjakarta.


Ada sedikitnya 4.596 debitur mengalami nunggak utang sebesar Rp69,12 miliar dari jumlah utang keseluruhan yang mencapai Rp91,72 miliar hanya akan menerima perlakuan khusus.


"Jadi bank tidak harus menghapus utang debitur korban Merapi. Namun tetap melihat seberapa besar dampak dan kemampuannya, dengan cara memberikan perlakuan khusus dalam membayar kredit, dan juga penurunan bunga utang," ujar Doni kepada Media Indonesia.

Dia paparkan, perlakukan khusus ini juga sesuai kebijakan bank masing-masing, seperti dengan penundaan pembayaran cililan uang pokok kredit, termasuk bunga bank dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Kebijakan bank ini sesuai dengan Peraturan Bank Indonesia (PBI) No.8/15/PB/PBI/2006 tanggal 5 Oktober 2006 tentang perlakuan khusus terhadap kredit bank bagi daerah-daerah tertentu di Indonesia yang terkena bencana alam.


Untuk situasi bencana letusan Merapi, juga telah dikeluarkan Keputusan Gubernur Bank Indonesia No.12/80/KEP.GB/2010 tanggal 8 Desember 2010 tentang penetapan beberapa kecamatan di Kabupaten Magelang, Boyolali, Klaten dan Kabupaten Sleman sebagai daerah-daerah yang memerlukan perlakukan khusus terhadap kredit bank. BI Will Not Clear Debt Merapi Citizen Victims

Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Solo Doni P. Joewono stressed banking policy is not going to whiten or remove the debts of the debtor's Merapi volcano victims in four districts of Central Java and DI Yogyakarta.


There are at least 4596 dead-beat debtor has debts amounting to Rp69, 12 billion of the overall amount of debt that reached Rp91, 72 billion will only receive special treatment.


"So banks do not have to remove the debtor's debt offering of Merapi. But it remains to see how big the impact and its ability, by giving them special treatment in repaying loans, and also reduction in debt interest," said Doni told the Media Indonesia.


He was describing, special treatment is also appropriate individual bank policies, such as with the delayed payment of loan principal installment money, including bank interest within a certain period. Bank policy is in line with Bank Indonesia Regulation (PBI) No.8/15/PB/PBI/2006 October 5, 2006 regarding the special treatment of bank credit to certain areas of Indonesia affected by natural disasters.


For Merapi eruption disaster situations, has also issued Decree of Governor of Bank Indonesia No.12/80/KEP.GB/2010 8 December 2010 concerning the establishment several districts in Magelang, Boyolali, Klaten and Sleman District as areas that require
