Penyebabnya gelombang laut setinggi 2,5 meter dan kelangkaan ikan. Kondisi ini sudah berlangsung selama dua pekan. Cuaca buruk yang berlangsung cukup lama membuat para nelayan khawatir. Mereka sangat berharap cuaca buruk berakhir sehingga bisa kembali ke laut mencari nafkah buat keluarga.

Mengisi waktu luang sejumlah nelayan coba menabur jala di pinggir pantai. Sayangnya tak dapat hasil. Ada pula yang mencoba menjadi buruh bangunan. Tapi sebagian besar menjadi penggarap sawah di lahan milik orang lain.

Nasib tak jauh beda dialami para nelayan di Mamuju, Sulawesi Barat. Gelombang mencapai tiga meter lebih. Meski membahayakan, masih ada saja sejumlah nelayan nekat melaut.(AIS)
