YOGYA (KRjogja.com) - Mata pelajaran matematika bagi sebagian besar siswa masih menjadi momok yang menakutkan terutama dalam Ujian Nasional (UN). Hal tersebut bisa terlihat pula dari hasil UN SMP/MTs DIY tahun ini dimana pada pelajaran matematika masih didominasi dengan nilai kurang dari 5,5.

Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olah Raga (Disdikpora) DIY, Baskara Aji mengungkapkan, rata-rata nilai matematika dalam UN kali ini memang menempati posisi paling rendah sekalipun terdapat dua orang siswa yang berhasil meraih nilai sempurna. Ia menyebutkan, dalam UN 2010 lalu, jumlah siswa SMP/MTs yang tidak lulus karena nilai matematika mereka dibawah standar 4,25 mencapai 5.957 siswa atau 12,13 persen dari total 49.126 siswa.

"Sedangkan tahun ini meski sudah digabungkan dengan nilai sekolah, jumlah siswa yang meraih nilai akhir matematika kurang dari 5,5 mencapai 6.694 siswa atau 13,80 persen dari total 48.507 peserta UN SMP/MTs tahun ini," ujarnya di Yogyakarta, Senin (6/5).

Menurutnya, tingginya jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai dibawah rata-rata tersebut menjadikan standar deviasi mata pelajaran matematika mencapai 1,36. Nilai rata-rata untuk Matematika pun menjadi paling rendah dibandingkan dengan mata pelajaran lain yakni hanya 6,99. Sementara nilai rata-rata mata pelajaran lain berkisar hingga 7,00 keatas.

"Bahkan terdapat nilai terendah matematika yang didapat oleh siswa di kota Yogyakarta yang hanya mencapai 2,90. Untuk itu, kami akan segera melakukan analisis terhadap hasil ujian baik nilai akhir maupun nilai UN murni. Hasil analisis tersebut akan kita sampaikan pada sekolah untuk bisa dilakukan perbaikan sejak awal tahun ajaran kedepan," imbuhnya. (Ran)
