YOGYAKARTA--MICOM: Puluhan papan iklan dan baliho berukuran besar yang terdapat di depan bangunan-bangunan tua sepanjang Jalan Maliboro hingga Titik Nol Kilometer 'menopengi' wajah asli kawasan yang telah ditetapkan sebagai kawasan budaya itu.


"Di sepanjang Malioboro, ada lebih dari 50 bangunan tua, namun hanya 10 yang benar-benar masih memperlihatkan fasad atau muka bangunan aslinya. Selebihnya, wajah bangunan itu sudah tertutup papan iklan dan baliho berukuran besar," kata Kepala Seksi Pembinaan dan Pelestarian Nilai-Nilai Budaya Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Yogyakarta Widiyastuti di sela-sela Diskusi Malioboro sebagai Kawasan Budaya di Jogja Library Centre Yogyakarta, Selasa (14/6).


Sejumlah bangunan yang masih memperlihatkan fasad asli di antaranya adalah, bangunan yang kini menjadi Apotek Kimia Farma, bangunan pertama di ujung utara Jalan Malioboro yang kini dijadikan sebagai gudang dan juga Jogja Library Centre.

Menurut dia, sebagian besar bangunan tua di sepanjang Malioboro tersebut tertutup oleh nama-nama toko.


"Padahal, jika besar baliho nama-nama toko tersebut disesuaikan dengan fasad bangunan, maka justru akan terlihat lebih cantik dan menarik," katanya.


Kepentingan ekonomi yang berada di sepanjang Malioboro, lanjut dia, harus sejalan dengan kepentingan budaya dari suatu kawasan, terlebih Malioboro masih menjadi tujuan utama wisata di Kota Yogyakarta.


"Kami berharap, di masa yang akan datang, semua baliho nama toko atau jenis iklan lainnya tersebut tidak lagi menutupi wajah Malioboro," katanya yang akan terus melakukan sosialisasi kepada pemilik bangunan.


Sementara itu, Koordinator Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) Madya yang bergerak di bidang budaya Jhohannes Marboen mengatakan, di sepanjang Jalan Malioboro seperti sedang terjadi perlombaan iklan.


"Papan-papan iklan tersebut menutupi arsitektur asli bangunan di Malioboro, padahal bangunan bisa menggambarkan wajah dari sebuah kawasan," ujarnya.


Ia menambahkan, arsitektur bangunan di sepanjang Malioboro juga sangat unik, karena dipengaruhi oleh gaya arsitektur China, Jawa, dan Indis.


Oleh karena itu, ia mendesak pemerintah untuk segera melakukan penataan terhadap kawasan Malioboro agar benar-benar menggambarkan citra Kota Yogyakarta.


Sementara itu, Asisten Sekretaris Daerah Bidang Perekonomian dan Pembangunan Kota Yogyakarta Eko Suryo Maharso mengatakan, pemerintah sudah memiliki aturan mengenai pemasangan papan iklan atau reklame.
