Warga Jual Gaplek Untuk Beli Air

GUNUNG KIDUL--MICOM: Warga Dusun Kamal, Desa Wunung, Kecamatan Wonosari, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, menjual gaplek atau singkong yang dikeringkan dengan cara dijemur untuk membeli air bersih.


Salah seorang warga Dusun Kamal, Desa Wunung, Kecamatan Wonosari, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Teguh (46) di Wonosari, Sabtu (9/7), mengatakan warga menjual gaplek untuk membeli air sejak tiga bulan lalu.


"Kami menjual puluhan kilogram gaplek ke Pasar Mulo dan Legi Wonosari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air pada musim kemarau ini. Satu kilogram gaplek kami jual dengan harga Rp1.000," katanya.

Ia mengatakan warga dusun setempat membeli air yang berasal dari sumur bor milik swasta karena belum mendapatkan distribusi air dari pemerintah.


"Dalam satu keluarga rata-rata membeli sebanyak 5.000 liter air untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air selama 15 hari. Warga harus mengeluarkan biaya sebesar Rp60 ribu untuk pembelian air sebanyak 5.000 liter," katanya.


Menurut dia, warga biasa membeli dalam jumlah yang banyak sebagai stok untuk kebutuhan minum, memasak, dan mandi.


"Sebenarnya warga telah mengusulkan distribusi air kepada pemerintah sejak beberapa waktu lalu, tetapi belum disetujui. Kemungkinan karena transportasi yang sulit sehingga belum ada distribusi air hingga kini," katanya.


Warga Dusun Kamal lainnya, Kemin (55) mengatakan, warga kini harus menekan kebutuhan sehari-hari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air.


"Kami harus menyisihkan uang untuk membeli air sehingga biaya kebutuhan lain, seperti makan harus ditekan," katanya.


Menurut dia, sumur galian warga setempat sejak tiga bulan yang lalu telah kering, sehingga tidak ada pilihan lain kecuali membeli air karena sumur dan sungai tidak bisa digunakan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Air untuk minum ternak juga harus dibatasi.
