Terminal Wates Berangkatkan 7.500 Penumpang

WATES - Volume kendaraan pada arus mudik H+4 Lebaran kemarin (4/9) masih didominasi kendaraan sepeda motor. Komandan Regu Monitoring Angkutan Lebaran dari Dishubkominfo Kulonprogo Edwin P. Hutagalung saat ditemui di pos angkutan depan Masjid Agung Wates mengatakan, berdasarkan pantauan yang dilakukan hingga H+4 tercatat arus balik didominasi pengendara sepeda motor dan mobil pribadi.

“Memasuki H+4 ini kepadatan kendaraan sudah mulai berkurang, puncaknya justru terjadi pada H+1 mencapai 62.054 kendaraan. Sedangkan untuk hari ini (kemarin, red) hanya 22.062 kendaraan,” ujarnya.

Selama arus mudik hingga arus balik lebaran yang memasuki H+4 belum pernah terjadi kemacetan yang cukup panjang. Hal ini disebabkan Dishubkominfo sudah bekerja sama dengan Polres Kulonprogo untuk mengatasi titik rawan kemacetan.

“Hampir tidak ada kemacetan, hanya padat dan ramai saja. Sampai hari ini (kemarin, red) arus kendaraan yang berasal dari Timur maupun Barat masih seimbang,” ujar Edwin, yang juga menjabat sebagai Kepala Seksi Kelaikan Kendaran Bermotor (KKB) Dishubkominfo.

Upaya yang telah dilakukan Dishubkominfo bersama Polres Kulonprogo dalam mengantisipasi kemacetan antara lain memberlakukan belok kiri jalan terus. Kebijakan ini khususnya diterapkan di beberapa titik rawan di wilayah Toyan Wates dan depan Terminal Wates.

Sejak H+1 Kamis (1/9) hingga H+3 Sabtu(3/9) armada bus yang terdapat di Terminal Wates mampu memberangkatkan sekitar 7.500 penumpang. "Puncaknya terjadi pada Sabtu lalu tetapi kalau dibandingkan dengan tahun lalu, jumlah penumpang arus balik yang melalui Terminal Wates menurun,” ujarnya.

Pada puncak arus balik lebaran tahun ini seluruh penumpang dapat terangkut meskipun sempat terjadi keterlambatan kedatangan bus yang disebabkan kemacetan. Para penumpang tersebut dapat terangkut dengan armada bus sekitar 60 unit.
“Pada pucak arus balik lebaran ini, Terminal Wates memberangkatkan sekitar 234 unit bus. Sedangkan sekitar 60 unit di antaranya khusus mengangkut dari Terminal Wates,” ucapnya. (asa)
